\n\t\t\t\t\t\tBei der S\/MIME-Verschl\u00fcsslung handelt es sich um ein asymmetrisches Verschl\u00fcsselungs-\/Signaturverfahren f\u00fcr ein- und ausgehende E-Mails auf Basis der Norm RFC 5751. Sie basiert auf pers\u00f6nlichen S\/MIME-Zertifikaten, deren Vertraulichkeit und Integrit\u00e4t von \u00f6ffentlichen Stellen, den sogenannten Certification Authorities (CAs), best\u00e4tigt werden.

Der Secure E-Mail Gateway von SEPPmail beinhaltet eine dedizierte Public-Key-Infrastruktur (PKI) zur Verwaltung der S\/MIME-Zertifikate. Sind sie von einer zertifizierten CA ausgestellt, werden die Zertifikate automatisch aus der E-Mail-Signatur in die PKI aufgenommen. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt wird jede E-Mail zu der entsprechenden Person verschl\u00fcsselt \u00fcbermittelt.

Das Secure E-Mail Gateway SEPPmail stellt Konnektoren zu ausgew\u00e4hlten CAs zur Verf\u00fcgung.
